MAL Indoor Rules
  1. All equipment must be worn at all times on the field. No player will be allowed on the field without proper equipment.
  2. All equipment must be in agreement with MSLA, including sticks.
  3. No equipment bags on the field.
  4. Each player will receive a jersey with a number. This jersey must be worn weekly. No player will be allowed to play without a jersey (or with the wrong jersey). The cost to replace a jersey is $20.
  5. If a team does not have enough players to field a team (6 + 1 goalie), that team will forfeit. Players who wish to practice will be allowed to play for the team needing players. The game is a loss and no stats are kept for the loosing team.
  6. The decision of the referee is final regarding fouls. No confrontation will be tolerated.
  7. Excessive fouls CAN lead to ejection (staff discresion).
  8. Boarding of any kind is an illegal hit. A minimum of one minute will be served by the player committing the foul.
  9. Any player who shows disrespect to the MAL staff, Soccer dome staff, the facility or the equipment may be ejected from MAL without a refund. No warning is necessary.
  10. Any foul and time served is up to the referee and will be served at the earliest whistle. There is no play-on in indoor.
  11. If time runs out with time left on the penalty, it will be served in the following shift.
  12. Any ball in the soccer dome is considered property of MAL. Bring balls at your own discresion. We will provide game balls.
  13. Each game will consist of 2-minute shifts for 1 hour. Each shift will begin with a face off. During the "face," 2 "O" & 2 "D" (not including the goalie) must be behind the Red lines. These players may not cross the red line until "release" is called. If a player crosses the line early, the opposite team will be awarded the ball.
  14. 1 "O" and 1 "D" player (not including the goalie) must be behind the red line at all times. Offside will be called when one team does not have one player behind the line. The play will result in a turnover.
  15. A goal is a continuation of play. After the goal is scored, the goalie will outlet and continue play.
  16. In case of a tie, one sudden-victory overtime period will be played. If no team scores, the game will end in a tie.
  17. Stats will be kept by the MAL staff (goals, assists, saves). These will be posted at the Dome and on the MAL website (coming soon).
  18. Any one-handed check will result in a change of possession.
  19. A goalie may cross midfield with the ball but a midi-back situation applies.
